Share photos one time or automatically

Send someone the photos they're in once, or automatically from now on. How automatic sharing starts with 14 days of “Ready to send”, and its safeguards.

Updated November 3, 2026

Open someone's page and tap Share photos of Maya (or Share with Maya). You choose how: One time or Automatically, from now on. The person gets an invite and decides whether to accept; receiving photos is always free.

One time

Send a set of photos once: the photos they're in, a day, an album or a single photo. Sharing one time is free.

Automatically, from now on

New photos with Maya in them are sent to Maya. Earlier photos aren't, unless you add them. Automatic sharing is part of the Personal and Family plans.

The first 14 days: "Ready to send"

Automatic sharing starts carefully. For the first 14 days, Photohawk shows you what it would send and waits for your OK:

  1. Home shows Ready to send to Maya (and a daily reminder can tell you how many photos are waiting).
  2. Every suggested photo is ticked. Tap one to leave it out; press and hold to see it larger. A photo you leave out won't be suggested for Maya again.
  3. Tap Send all 5 photos (or Not now).

After 14 days, matches send on their own, unless you keep Review before sending on.

Safeguards

  • Only strong matches are sent on their own; close calls wait for you.
  • Never sent automatically: screenshots, screen recordings, documents and receipts, hidden photos, anything your phone flags as sensitive, and photos where Photohawk isn't sure it's them.
  • Where each photo was taken is removed before it's sent, unless you turn on Include location.
  • Optional: Only photos where Maya is the main person, and in a chat Skip photos with people outside this chat.
  • Of similar shots, only the best is sent (Send only the best of similar shots).
  • Children are never sent photos. Photos of children can go to adults.

Sent one by mistake? Tap Unsend within 24 hours: it's removed for everyone in the chat.

Questions people ask

Are shared photos private?

Yes. They're end-to-end encrypted on your phone: only you and the people you share with can see them.

I sent a photo by mistake. Can I take it back?

Yes, within 24 hours: open the photo in the chat and tap Unsend. A copy someone already saved to their phone stays theirs.

Is automatic sharing free?

Automatic sharing is part of the Personal and Family plans. Sharing one time is free.
