Search and sorting options

Choose how visitors find their photos in a gallery, by selfie, bib number, time, collection or colour, and the order photos appear in.

Updated October 29, 2026

Open the gallery, then Settings, then the Search & sorting tab. Turn on the ways visitors can find their photos; each one has its own settings when it's on.

Ways visitors can find their photos

Browse by collection

Visitors pick a collection to browse. Set a Collection label (rename "Collection" to "Stage", "Wave" or "Session"), and a View mode: Dropdown, or Grid with collection cover images.

Take or upload a selfie

Face search: visitors take or upload a selfie and see every photo they're in.

  • Face match threshold (%): higher is stricter. The default is 80; many photographers use 90 for children under 12.
  • Allow selfie upload: let people upload a selfie as well as take one.

See Face search and face data for how face data is kept.

Search by time

Visitors find photos taken around a given time, from the camera's clock. Useful for wave starts and for runners who know their split times.

Search by text / number

Visitors search for text found in the photos, such as bib numbers or car numbers. Set a Search label like "Race number".

Colour search

Visitors filter photos by their main colour, for example a club's kit.

Photo order

Sort photos by camera time, file name or upload time, each oldest-to-newest or the other way. If you sort by camera time, make sure your editing software doesn't strip the photos' EXIF data.

Choose Save settings when you're done.
