Photohawk

Pages, galleries and collections

Pages group your galleries, galleries hold an event's photos, and collections split a gallery into sections. How the three fit together.

Updated October 29, 2026

Photohawk organises photos in three levels.

LevelWhat it isTypical use
PageAn optional landing page that lists some or all of your galleriesA series, a season, a client, a year
GalleryOne event's photos, with its own selling, search and look"City Half Marathon 2026"
CollectionA section of a gallery"Start", "Mile 3", "Finish line"

Pages

Pages are optional. Without any, visitors see all your published galleries on your workspace's home page. Create pages under Pages in the main menu to group galleries, for example by year or by client, each with its own address, welcome text, banner and theme. See Pages.

Galleries

A gallery is where people search, browse and buy. Each one has its own settings: whether it sells or shares photos, its product list, search options, watermarks, theme and password. Galleries are under Galleries in the main menu.

Collections

Collections split a gallery into sections, so people can jump to the part they want and you can keep uploads organised. Every gallery has at least one collection, and photos are always uploaded into a collection.

To add one, open the gallery, go to the Collections tab and create it. Good examples:

  • Triathlon: Swim, Bike, Run.
  • Marathon: Start, Course, Finish.
  • School: one collection per class.

Visitors can pick a collection to browse if you turn on Browse by collection in the gallery's Search & sorting settings, where you can also rename "Collection" to something like "Stage" or "Wave".
