Duplicating is the quickest way to set up a gallery like one you already have, such as next year's edition of an event or the next round of a series.
Duplicate a gallery
- Go to Galleries in the main menu.
- Open the menu on the gallery's card and choose Duplicate.
- In Duplicate gallery, check the details below, then choose Duplicate gallery.
| Field | What to do |
|---|---|
| Name | Starts as the gallery's name followed by "copy". Change it to the new event's name. |
| Gallery URL | Starts as the gallery's URL followed by "-copy". Change it to suit the new event (below). |
| Are your photos free to download?, Product list, Categories | Copied from the gallery. Change them if the new event is different. |
| Gallery date | Set the new event's date, and an end date for a multi-day event. Left empty, the copy gets today's date. |
| Listing image | Copied from the gallery. |
| Status | Draft by default, so nobody sees the copy until you publish it. |
The URL must be new
Every gallery in your workspace needs its own URL, and that includes archived galleries and copies you've just made. If the URL is taken, you see "That gallery URL is already used by another gallery in this workspace (it may be archived, or a copy you just made). Choose a different URL." Add the year or the round, such as city-10k-2027.
What's copied, and what isn't
Copied:
- the gallery's settings, such as selling and downloads, search, theme and branding, watermarks, emails and access,
- its product list (the same list, not a copy of it),
- its member galleries,
- its collections, empty, with their names and settings.
Not copied: photos and videos, orders and sales, and analytics. Upload the new event's photos into the copy's collections.
Coupons limited to specific galleries don't include the copy: add it to the coupon if it should work there too.
