Save your photos and videos to your phone

Opening a photo isn't saving it. How to download your photos and videos on an iPhone or Android phone and get them into your photo library.

Updated November 2, 2026

On a phone, opening or viewing a photo doesn't save it. If you looked at your photos and they disappeared when you closed them, nothing is lost: open the link in your order email again and save them as below.

Download them first

  1. Open your order email on your phone and choose Download your photos. (For free downloads, choose your photos in the gallery: a window opens with your photos, ready to download.)
  2. Tap a photo, or the download icon on it, to download it. Do this for each photo. Videos and reels are on the Videos tab.

You can also choose Download as Zip to get every photo in one file, but on a phone single photos are usually easier: a zip file has to be opened (unzipped) before the photos can go into your photo library.

On an iPhone

  1. When you tap a photo, Safari asks whether to download it: choose Download.
  2. Downloads go to the Files app, in the Downloads folder.
  3. To put a photo in your Photos app, open it in Files, tap the share button and choose Save Image (Save Video for a video).

If a photo opens in a new tab instead, press and hold it and choose Save to Photos.

On an Android phone

  1. Tap a photo to download it. Your browser shows when the download is complete.
  2. Downloaded photos go to the Download folder. Your Gallery or Google Photos app usually shows them in a folder called Download, or open the Files app and go to Downloads.

From WhatsApp

If you chose WhatsApp delivery, your photos also arrive in a WhatsApp chat. Open each photo and save it, or turn on WhatsApp's setting to save media to your phone automatically. WhatsApp compresses photos, so the files in your order email are the full-resolution ones.
