Pre-orders let participants buy a photo package before the event, usually at a discount. You get revenue up front and a good idea of demand.
1. Collect subscribers
In the gallery's Settings, on the Downloads & subscribers tab, turn on Collect subscribers and set the Subscribe button text. Pre-orders are offered through the subscribe form. See Collecting subscribers.
2. Turn on pre-ordering
Open the gallery's product list (Edit products), open your download product and turn on Pre-order.
3. Set both prices
Each product (or each Volume tier) needs a normal price and a Pre-order price. Both must be more than zero. Many photographers give the biggest discount on the biggest bundle.
How buyers pre-order
- They open the gallery and the subscribe form.
- They tick the pre-order option (for example "Pre-order and save up to 20%", depending on your prices) and choose Continue.
- They pick a package and pay at checkout.
- They receive a coupon by email.
- When the photos are up, they choose their photos and use the coupon at checkout.
Subscribing alone isn't a pre-order: a buyer only gets a coupon once they've paid.
