Watermarks

Security watermarks protect previews and never appear on purchases. Branding watermarks add logos, frames or sponsors, to previews or paid products too.

Open the gallery, then Settings, then the Watermarks tab. There are two kinds of watermark.

Security watermark

Protects the previews people browse. It's for display only and never appears on anything a customer buys.

  • Watermark image, Width (%) and Position.
  • Tile watermark across image repeats it across the photo.
  • Show watermark on thumbnails applies it to the small grid images too.

A gallery that sells uses Photohawk's default security watermark until you upload your own.

Branding watermarks

Logos, event frames, borders or sponsor overlays. By default they appear on previews only. Turn on Show on paid products to apply them to what customers receive as well (and set Include watermark on each product in your product list). For free downloads, use Watermark free downloads on the Downloads & subscribers tab.

Each branding watermark has:

  • A Landscape image and a Portrait image, each with its own width, so frames fit both orientations.
  • Position, and margins (Top, Bottom, Left, Right) in pixels for exact placement.
  • Resize to fit, which stretches the watermark to the photo. It works best when the frame matches the photo's orientation.
  • Folders: limit it to some collections, or leave empty for the whole gallery.

Choose Add watermark for another one, such as a different frame per collection.
